Need Help Choosing?
Do I need a chopping board or a serving board?
Choose a chopping board for regular food preparation, slicing and carving. Serving and charcuterie boards are designed for presenting cheese, bread and sharing spreads. Some boards suit both uses—check the individual product description.
What size board should I choose?
Think about your worktop space, what you prepare and where you’ll store the board. A smaller board is handy for quick tasks, while a larger board gives you more room for food preparation or serving. Check the dimensions on the product page before ordering.
How do I care for a wooden board?
Hand-wash with mild soapy water, dry promptly and leave upright to finish drying. Never soak your board or put it in the dishwasher. Condition it with food-safe board oil or butter when the wood looks dry, following the care instructions supplied.
Are all your boards handmade in Ireland?
Our Moat & Grain boards are handmade in our workshop outside Athy, Co. Kildare. Black Castle & Hare is our carefully selected range. The collection and product descriptions explain which range each board belongs to.
Still unsure? Tell us how you plan to use your board and we’ll help you choose.
